These roving cocktail bars are making the rounds in the Lowcountry
Chug-a-lug Wagon
Shipped all the way from the Italian countryside, then renovated by Silverside Design, this petite, vintage Piaggio Ape cart boasts six taps ready to be filled with Champagne, sparkling wine, beer, or kombucha. Event planners choose the drinks, and Chug-a-Lug takes it from there—picking up the supplies and arriving at the party in plenty of time for the toast. chugalugwagon.com
Mamasita’s Margaritas
Founded by three local “mamas” who share a passion for animals and a good marg, this bar operates out of a refurbished horse trailer and boasts an adorable mascot, Wilbur the donkey. Available for parties within a 20-mile radius of Charleston, the biz serves traditional margaritas, as well as sweet tea-infused and Bloody Mary-inspired riffs on the classic. mamasitasmargaritas.com
Sweet Lulu’s Cocktail Caravan
One of the pioneers of the local mobile cocktail bar scene, Karen Moran’s Sweet Lulu’s Cocktail Caravan is more than just a vintage camper gone chic. Dubbed “Pearl,” this Shasta trailer rolls up to weddings and corporate events bearing treats like Mason jar cupcakes and Firefly vodka-spiked pop tarts, plus drinks such as pineapple-basil sangria and pomegranate mimosas. sweetlulusbakery.com
Charleston Pedal Pub
Whoever said a bike couldn’t be a bar? From the team behind Sweet Lulu’s Cocktail Caravan comes Charleston’s first two-wheeled bar, the Pedal Pub. This charming, retro bike might not have a bell or a basket, but it does have two brass taps flowing with your choice of delicious brew—sign us up for the cycling team. sweetlulusbakery.com
Wander Bar
To cut the cost of cocktails at weddings and parties, husband-and-wife team Mark and Gabrielle Partridge thought up a solution: a bar where the hosts supply the booze. Thus, Wander Bar, a humble camper-turned-mobile bar, was born. After customers choose their libations and the amount of drinks needed for the event, Wander Bar takes care of the serving. wanderbars.com
