Hit local eateries for icy adult drinks that range from creative to classic

(Left to right) Try four of The Co-Op’s rotating frosé flavors with a flight; beat the heat with Home Team’s Gamechanger.

Home Team’s Gamechanger
Wash down platters of ribs or brisket with this barbecue stalwart’s play off a Painkiller, concocted with two types of rum, orange and pineapple juices, and cream of coconut; blended with ice; and topped with freshly grated nutmeg. The Holy City’s OG frozen drink can be enjoyed in-house at all Home Team BBQ locations or made at home using “Away Game” mix and rum of your choice. 1205 Ashley River Rd.; 126 Williman St.; 3563 Hwy. 17, Mount Pleasant; & 2209 Middle St., Sullivan’s Island; hometeambbq.com

Lowlife’s Erik Estrada
Hit this breezy Folly Beach bar for a slew of creative cocktails that nod to the rich and famous (fancy a Toni Basil or Kurt Cobain?). Lowlife’s frozen pina colada carries the namesake of CHiPs actor Erik Estrada and is dusted with cinnamon, allspice, and clove. 106 E. Hudson Ave., Folly Beach; lowlifebar.com

The Co-Op’s Frose
Beyond The Co-Op’s iconic strawberry frosé, owner Jess Patterson has dreamed up more than 50 rotating flavors, ranging from prickly pear and peach to a sparkling wine-topped Aperol spritz and blackberry lavender. Try a flight of four at the original Sullivan’s Island shop, or hit one of multiple other local outposts, including the latest downtown location, for the always trending summer sipper. 81 Cannon St., Suite 101; 1505 King St.; 2019 Middle St., Sullivan’s Island; 1515 Palm Blvd., Isle of Palms; & 190 Gardners Cir., John’s Island thecoopsi.com

Leon’s Frozen Gin & Tonic
Head downtown to try a frozen riff on the classic cocktail, churned out in a slushy machine and served in a rocks glass, at Leon’s Oyster Shop. London Dry gin gets mixed with ice and tonic syrup from local company Jack Rudy for this refreshing sipper, best paired with a tray of chargrilled oysters or a plate of piping-hot fried chicken. 698 King St., leonsoystershop.com

The Longboard’s Wadma-Law-Breaker
This stylish Sullivan’s Island spot offers its own contender to the frozen beverage scene with this cocktail made with tequila, lime, agua fresca, basil agave, and orange liqueur. Topped with a salted wedge of watermelon (and an optional tequila floater), it tastes just like summer. 2213-B Middle St., Sullivan’s Island; thelongboardsullivans.com
