Holiday Best

Any day of the year, Zero George Hotel sets one of the most charming scenes in town, but when dressed for the holidays? It’s extraordinary. And on December 8, the high-end hideaway is throwing a Holiday Trunk Show featuring fabulous vendors: Croghan’s Jewel Box, Hart (whose earrings are shown above), Lake Pajamas, Mac & Murphy, SYG Designs, Charleston Artist Collective, Drybar (opening soon downtown!), Candlefish, J. Stark, and RMS Beauty. While you shop, enjoy bites from Zero George chef Vinson Petrillo and Cannon Green chef Amalia Scatena with Cathead Vodka cocktails and wine. Wild Encounter

In November, exotic animal-skin designer Amy Driggers—whose creations have been spotted on Beyoncé, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner—opened a long-term pop-up shop on Vendue Range. During extended hours through Christmas (Monday through Saturday, noon to 7 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.), shop the latest collection of vibrantly hued handbags, Chuck Taylors, and varsity jackets. Season for Surprises

Lingerie boutique Bits of Lace opened on Vendue Range in 1976 (that was before Waterfront Park even existed, folks!) and has been selling fine underpinnings ever since—these days from a Mount Pleasant location. To thank its customers for four decades of success, the store is hosting ”40 Days of Celebration” from Black Friday through January 2. Shoppers can score a different gift with purchase each day—from a Cosabella panty to a Stars Grill Room gift card—and take advantage of pop-up sales that’ll be advertised via the shop’s social media. Dates Worth Saving

Throughout the season, loads of events are centered around King Street, beginning on November 25 with Black Tie Optional Friday, when stores offer deals during extended hours. On December 2, catch the King Street and Downtown Holiday First Friday Art Walk, and buy a ticket ($18) to the December 9 Shop & Stroll—you’ll receive a VIP Passport that grants access to specials at select stores (all offering adult bevs and hors d’oeuvres), plus entry to an after-party. Later that weekend, 2nd Sunday on King Street promises to be extra-festive. Finally, a Men’s Shopping Night on December 22 offers last-minute specials, refreshments, and more geared toward the guys.
