Organic Origins: I grew up on a small, organic farm outside of Athens, Georgia, where my parents encouraged a nontoxic lifestyle. We were raised to be eco-conscious, but my passion for nontoxic skin care really was ignited in 2012 when I started selling Beautycounter as a side hustle to my corporate gig. Mylkbar opened in 2017 and was born of the idea that everyone should have access to safe nail and beauty services in a fun, fresh, and fume-free environment.

Eco Chic: We are one of the first nail salons in the USA to make a “six-free or better” promise, which means Mylkbar omits the use of any products containing the six most harmful chemicals found in other salons. Other differentiators include our commitment to using vegan and palm oil-free products and medical-grade ventilation systems, as well as employing fair wage practices. It is important that we are doing the right thing for people, animals, and the planet.

Au Natural: We carry more than just nail polish. Our new WTHN beauty and supplement lines, which provide ancient healing for modern life, have been a huge hit. My personal favorite is the “Oops I Did It Again” pack, which can be used before, or after, a night of overindulging.

Tips & Tricks: Time is very limited as I just had my second baby, but I still make it a point to get regular manicures sans polish. We recommend our “Birthday Suit” services with a nourishing treatment like Zoya Lavender Repair for those who need to take a break from polish.
