Trattoria Lucca

Chef Ken Vedrinski's Family Supper, now on Monday nights, is the ticket. Sit down at a communal table and share the four set courses ($36) of antipasti, pasta, entrée, and dolce and cross your fingers that he’ll be serving the to-die-for crudo of grouper. 41-A Bogard St., (843) 973-3323, www.luccacharleston.com

Marion Sullivan, food editor
Bacco

On winter nights when I crave comfort food, I head to Bacco for chef Michael Scognamiglio’s perfect Risi e Bisi, the rich, creamy Venetian risotto spiked with pancetta, studded with plump green peas, and redolent of Parmigiano-Reggiano. 976 Houston Northcutt Blvd., Mount Pleasant,   (843) 884-6969

Lauren Brooks Johnson, managing editor
Long Point Grill

My husband and I crave LPG for two menu faves: buttermilk-battered fried chicken for him, and Southwestern ravioli with blackened scallops for me. The bonus? Both plates are bigger than our appetites, so we get to enjoy them all over again for lunch. 479 Long Point Rd., Mount Pleasant, (843) 884-3101, www.dinewithsal.com

Anna Evans, assistant editor
Brick House Kitchen

For dessert indulgence, I go to Brick House Kitchen with their dozen or so house-made sweets. While I haven’t been able to break allegiance with the amazing chocolate pot de crème, I’ve sampled enough of the pies and cakes to know that you can’t go wrong. 1575 Folly Rd., James Island, (843) 406-4655

Sesame

My perfect dinner-before-a-movie option is the Turkey Burger In A Bowl. Start with house-ground meat, lose the bun, and add caramelized onions, sharp cheddar, and tart Granny Smith apple, all tossed with crisp baby greens with just-the-right touch of pesto vinaigrette. 2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., Citadel Mall, (843) 766-7770
