April 22 & 23, 2017
The Party: On both days of High Water Festival, six chefs, including Kevin Johnson of The Grocery and John Lewis of Lewis Barbecue, joined together to dish out a family-style brunch dubbed “Pass the Peas.” Held on the lawn of Quarters H at Riverfront Park in North Charleston, this fundraiser benefitted The Green Heart Project, an organization that offers garden-based learning programs for young students. Following the meal, attendees witnessed a private show by Shovels & Rope and Ranky Tanky in the Eternal Father of the Sea Chapel. Afterwards, festivalgoers flocked to the main stages for afternoon performances from The Avett Brothers, Margo Price, The Shins, and more.
