Funky Town: “I worked at Bert’s Market one summer during college, deep-frying egg rolls and stocking Gatorade. Awesome vibes, the heartbeat of Folly.”
Literary Lover: “Growing up, I loved going to the library with my mom. It’s really cool seeing my wife take our young son now and how much it means to them.”
Sci-Fi Fix: “I can’t say enough about the Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown. If you start reading now, you can finish before the last installment is released.”
Making Waves: “I haven’t been surfing nearly as much as I would like in the past two years. But when things do go your way, it’s hard to find a more pure form of joy.”
Caw Caw County Park: “It doesn’t get much better than walking the Habitat Loop when it comes to clearing your mind or having a morning full of laughs with friends.”
Now under the leadership of director Benton Montgomery, GrowFood Carolina, a nonprofit launched by the Coastal Conservation League in 2011 to connect local, small-scale farmers and purveyors with a larger market, has returned almost $10.3 million to farmers.
