A new program boosts local start-ups

On January 2, eight area start-ups dive into a 14-week crash course placing them on the path to market viability. They make up the first “cohort” in The Harbor Accelerator launched by John Osborne (founder of fundingcharleston.com) and Patrick Bryant (a partner in Go To Team and more).

“We looked for companies with scalable business ideas and innovative ways of looking at a problem and solving it,” says Osborne of the application process that led them to enterprises such as Dynepic.

Mentor business leaders—including Bryant, Adam Witty of Advantage Media Group, and Christine Osborne of Wonder Works—guide participants through a curriculum aimed at testing the market and growing the businesses quickly. On April 10, the entrepreneurs will pitch to possible supporters at DIG South.
