Too chilly to spend the day exploring the Lowcountry’s great outdoors? Instead, head to the Martin Gallery to do a bit of indoor adventuring as you view “Vanishing Light,” a new exhibit of film photographs by Hilton Head resident Ben Ham.
This nationally recognized artist uses an 8" x 10" wooden field camera to portray the Carolina Lowcountry, Colorado mountains, Southwestern deserts, and California wine country in sepia tones. “The landscapes I photograph are timeless, and this technique conveys that,” he says. “I hope the images make viewers want to preserve these places.”
On December 11, stop by the gallery from 5 to 8 p.m. to celebrate the release of Ham’s first book of photography, also titled Vanishing Light.
