“The Tide Is High”

Crafted from discarded plastic and debris, Aurora Robson’s sculptures give fresh, vibrant life to what most would call garbage. This month she brings a new series of artwork, as well as a site-specific installation, to the Halsey with the intention of spreading ecologic awareness and educating people about plastic pollution in oceans. An artist talk will take place on October 21 at 2 p.m. in the Simons Center, and her sculpture pictured here is on display at the SC Aquarium throughout October. This Halsey exhibit is concurrent with Chris Jordan‘s “Midway“ (see page 180). Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, 161 Calhoun St. Monday-Saturday, 11am-4pm; Thursday, 11am-7pm. Free.
