Berries & Cream

INGREDIENTS: 

2 cups mixed fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries)
1 Tbs. fresh lemon or orange juice
1 tsp. sugar, optional
Pinch of salt
1 cup cold heavy cream
1 Tbs. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla paste or pure vanilla extract
1 tsp. Grand Marnier

DIRECTIONS: 

Combine the berries, citrus juice, and sugar, if using, in a bowl and toss lightly. Season with a pinch of salt.

Whip the heavy cream in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. When it begins to thicken, add the sugar, vanilla, and Grand Marnier and keep whipping until firm. Don’t over-whip.

Spoon the berries into serving dishes and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream.
