Frederick Douglass...No Turning Back

To honor Black History Month, Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina presents Frederick Douglass...No Turning Back, part of the Dinner Theatre Series at North Charleston Coliseum’s Montague Terrace. After being freed from slavery, Frederick Douglass went on to become one of the greatest eduacators and reformers in American history. An account of his astounding and inspiring journey to freedom, set in an anti-slavery church in 1872, the one-act, two-man play debuted at last year’s Piccolo Spoleto Festival to resounding praise and now tours the country. Filled with history, humor, reflection, and song, No Turning Back brings an important piece of our country’s history to life. The production is accompanied by a gourmet dinner, catered by Centerplate. Montague Terrace at North Charleston Coliseum, 5001 Coliseum Dr. Thursday, 7-10pm. $40-36.
