Dance Macabre

Experience the Holy City’s paranormal side in the new ballet, Dance Macabre. With a haunting musical selections including Schubert, Saint-Saëns, and Mendelssohn, the dancers of Ballet Evolution embody characters of Charleston's past, such as Madame Talvande of the school for girls at the Sword-Gates House and Lavinia Fisher, the troubled motel owner who, as legend has it, poisoned her guests. Dance studio Ballet Evolution breaks the mold of a traditional performance with this collaborative piece, featuring live music and storytelling in order to depict some of Charleston’s most chilling tales. Sottile Theatre at College of Charleston, 44 George St. Saturday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 3:00pm. $50-20.
